Wining & Dining

There's no shortage of choice in the Hague, with the cuisine of so many nationalities represented.
Local dishes
The Hague is especially well known for its Indonesian restaurants. A great opportunity to sample 'rijsttafel' that consists of up to fifty dishes and is a typically Dutch version of Indonesian cuisine. The best original Dutch herring can be tasted on the famous stall just outside the Binnenhof and for people with a sweet tooth, try Haagsche Hopje- The Hague’s very own sweet!
Scheveningen
10 minutes from the city centre of The Hague you will find the beautiful seaside resort Scheveningen. The promenade is a special experience in both summer and winter. The many beach pavilions offer you a nice place to take a rest from a walk alongside the beach and watch the sun set. When the weather is cold and wet, you can sit inside by the fire and watch the stormy sea while enjoying a cup of hot chocolate. In summer the beach pavilions offer an international variety of foods for beach parties and barbecues.
