Amsterdam Marathon

The Amsterdam Marathon and the Rotterdam Marathon are the two largestrunning events in the Netherlands. Thousands of professional and recreational runners from over 50 countries participate in the marathon yearly. The start and finish of the Amsterdam Marathon is always the Olympic Stadium.

Route through Amsterdam

Not a single year goes by in which the Amsterdam Marathon has the same route. Due to continual road-works, the 42 kilometer long course is forced to find a new way from the Olympic Stadium, along the River Amstel, the Vondelpark, Museum Square and back each year. Despite the ever-changing course ,many professional and recreational runners register in a blink of an eye every year.

Run of Amsterdam

You will have a great time at the Amsterdam Marathon, whether you are one of the participating athletes or a supporter. The marathon leads you along some of Amsterdam’s most beautiful sites and the countless cheering supporters create a positive atmosphere. In case 42 kilometers is a bit too much, you can also participate in the half a Marathon and an 8 kilometer run.
