The Tuschinski Theater is considered as one of the most beautiful cinemas in the world. Every visitor that walks in for the first time is stunned. Thousands of electrical lamps, marble, stained glass windows and the exotic art create an overwhelming entrance.

One Theater, Different Styles

The theater of Abraham Tuschinski opened its doors in 1921. It is a mix of two styles: Art Deco and Amsterdam School. Everywhere you go you’ll find all sorts of decorations ranging from wall paintings to hand-knotted carpets.

Purpose of Tuschinski Theater

Abraham Tuschinski thought that every person had a right to relax. The Tuschinski Theater made his dream come true and hosted great artists like Marlene Dietrich, Edith Piaf and Josephine Baker. These days the Tuschinski Theater in Amsterdam is a cinema, but still meets its original purpose: to entertain visitors.
