Culinary at Floriade

Floriade 2012 is the perfect occasion to welcome you and the 2 million other national and international visitors with our southern hospitality, and to let you enjoy the Burgundian lifestyle that typifies Limburg. The horticultural sector produces delicious and healthy fruit and vegetables. Health, nutrition, natural, local produce and hospitality characterise Floriade 2012. So expect to find amazingly tasty dishes, prepared as much as possible using seasonal local produce, in our restaurants.

Each themed zone has its own restaurant. The ambience, menus and style of the restaurants also reflect each of the five central themes.

Relax & Heal

In the Relax and Heal zone you can taste, smell, feel, hear and see just how nature influences your health, your wellbeing and  your mood in tranquil surroundings. The Zen restaurant Zen is redolent with the atmosphere of the Orient. Enjoy Thai delicacies and Japanese snacks, healthy fruit juices and refreshing mint tea. A place to relax and rediscover yourself, and also the place to join up with friends for fantastic meal.

Education & Innovation

Impressive greenhouses are the focal point of the Education & Innovation world, where fruit and vegetables have a starring role. The restaurant is also situated in a greenhouse. The focus is on seasonal and local produce. So feast on asparagus and enjoy fresh, garden-picked strawberries. And let the Dutch and Limburg cuisines surprise your senses.

Environment

Imagine you're on a city beach in Barcelona or Paris! The Environment Restaurant is located right at the water's edge and is the beach club at the Floriade Park. Here you can enjoy delicious meat from the barbecue and heavenly cocktails. Or close your eyes for a few moments on a lounger and enjoy the live jazz.

Green Engine

The Green Engine themed zone is dominated by the glass edifice of Villa Flora: the ultramodern glass building specially designed for Floriade in which flowers take centre stage. What better place for a restaurant than at the heart of Villa Flora?  The restaurant will serve a delicious range of hearty soups, generously filled sandwiches and organic salads.

World Show Stage

World Show Stage is all about international art and culture. The restaurant, situated in the Water pavilion, offers a wide range of foods from all over the world. Enjoy freshly made Italian pizzas and pasta dishes, Asian stir fries and Oriental delicacies. Embark on a culinary voyage of discovery at World Show Stage!

Floriade Boulevard runs along the imposing water garden of the World Show Stage. Here you can revive your feet by dangling them in the water, do a spot of people-watching and enjoy the view from Theatre Hill. But best of all you can tuck into the delicious snacks and drinks on offer here. In the 16 different kiosks along the boulevard we serve snacks and finger foods from all four corners of the world.
