A large number of hotels and restaurants are happy to accommodate people with disabilities and their carers. Many attractions, shows and concerts have special discounts and dedicated seating. Telephone the box office in advance to reserve special seats.
Getting from one city to another is most easily done by train. The NS (Netherlands Railways) has special services for passengers with disabilities. Contact them in advance to make your journey by train as comfortable as possible.
The accessibility of buildings in Amsterdam can be checked in advance. In the traditional Dutch villages and towns, you will have to allow for the often narrow and cobbled streets. But please don’t let this deter you; the Dutch are a friendly and helpful people.
