- 13th century gothic church building
- ‘One of the most beautiful bookshops in the world’
- A must on any Maastricht event itinerary
While Dominicanenkerk is not an event venue per se, it is one of the locations that should find its way to your event itinerary. Newspaper The Guardian called it ‘The fairest bookshop of the world, a bookshop made in heaven’. The 700-year old Dominicanenkerk is a national monument with a rich history and a unique atmosphere. And the moment you set foot into the building you will know why.
Take a heavenly event break
The church was initially built as cloister. After the cloister’s suspension at the end of the 18th century the building served as venue for a variety of religious and non-religious purposes. This includes a library, postal office, exhibition space, carnival venue, bicycle shed and finally bookstore. Dominicanenkerk also houses a coffee shop from where you can marvel at the century old frescoes. A small event space is also available. Take your delegates on a memorable event break that will not only leave them in awe, but also inspired.
