An exciting underground journey of discovery past 2000 years of history - this is DOMunder! Beneath Domplein square in Utrecht, you will find a fascinating exhibition that helps you understand the layers of time hidden here.

2000 years of history

DOMunder shows Domplein square like you’ve never seen it before. You will discover periods in which the square flourished as well as moments of its decay. Starting from AD 45, when the Romans built the castellum Traiectum, up to the storm that destroyed the Gothic cathedral in 1674.

Experience it like an archaeologist

Discover why Utrecht was the centre of ecclesiastical power in the Middle Ages and explore the various periods that determined the history of Domplein square like an archaeologist. While walking between the immense pillars of the old cathedral, you will experience a unique piece of Dutch history.
